Users of my server "news.nntp4.net" are obliged to comply with the following rules. Failure to follow these rules will lead to exclusion from using my news server.

1. Correct Sender Addresses

The "From:" or "Reply-To:" addresses used should be valid email addresses. The use of foreign addresses and namespaces without the consent of the respective owner is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.

If you do not want to disclose your email address to protect against spam, set up an additional email address for Usenet. Alternatively, use the top-level domain ".invalid" (see RFC 2606). The top-level domain ".invalid" is intended to construct obviously invalid addresses like "max@example.invalid". Such addresses do not burden any existing or foreign namespaces and can be clearly identified as invalid. However, this is rather frowned upon among Usenet users.

2. Compliance with Netiquette / Rules

Most hierarchies in Usenet have established their usual rules of conduct in a netiquette. Contributions in these hierarchies such as de.* should only be made while respecting the applicable netiquette, as this may lead to the suspension of your access to my news server.

3. Commercial Use of My News Server

Any commercial use of my news server is prohibited. However, permission can be requested.

4. Volume of Articles and News in Usenet

Posting SPAM in Usenet is forbidden and leads to exclusion from the Usenet. Posting binary files (binaries) such as photos, graphics, animations, video clips, audio files, compiled programs, etc. is not allowed on our server. The size of the message must not exceed 256 Kilobytes,
as there are client systems that cannot handle this size.

5. Control & Cancellation of Messages

No control messages may be sent via my server. Cancelling posts made by others (foreign cancels) is strictly prohibited. Sending control and cancellation messages will be logged with the respective usernames.
The only exception: If cancelling or superseding (superseed) your own articles in the respective newsgroup is intended.

6. Distribution of News / News from Usenet

The business-like offering of news articles related to this news server is prohibited. Exception: Explicit and prior consent from the respective author of the news/message.

7. Account Information and So-Called Account Sharing

Access to confidential data must not be disclosed to third parties. Every user is obliged to immediately report any suspicions of third-party knowledge of their access data. Every user is fully responsible for their access and liable for damages and claims that have arisen through the use of the user's access data.

8. Legal Compliance and Applicable Laws

Newsgroups are not above the law and users are not anonymous! Every user must comply with valid legal regulations and laws!

These are at least the laws and regulations of the Federal Republic of Germany, but also the laws and regulations of the country of the newsgroups and the country where the news server is located.

9. System Security and Resource-Efficient Use

The resources provided must be handled responsibly and carefully. Any impairment of system security and endangerment of ongoing server operations is strictly prohibited and leads to the exclusion of the respective user and possibly further legal steps.
